Lighting For Drama

My brother lives in Germany and has done so since the 90s. Due to work and pretty much everything else, this was the first time I’d seen him in three years. Consequently, when he asked me to photograph his motorbike, I, of course, said yes.

Let There be Light!

This was a very simple, but effective setup. The image was taken quite late in the evening and in darkness. All light is provided by off-camera flash, and the downside was having to setup by touch in the dark. We had a solitary LED torch, which helped, but it took a great deal longer to setup than I would have preferred.

Model Portfolio Photography

Model portfolio shoots are often daunting for both the model and the photographer. Often, it’s the first shoot for a model wanting to start a new portfolio. For the photographer, it can be a lot of work building the relationship and helping the model find their feet and feel comfortable.

Team Mini – Lloyd Motor Group South Lakes

I spent the early part of 2015 running around the Lake district and Cumbria in general. This was for Lloyd Motor Group, creating headshots, dealership interiors and exteriors, along with team shots etc. However, Cumbria being the black hole of connectivity that it is, this tutorial is somewhat late, and I apologise for that. I forgot!

Lighting The Bat

First things first. I very rarely get to shoot anything purely for myself. Everything tends to be client driven. This shoot, however, was organised by one of my crew, Wayne Myers, and I think it was basically to stop me being so grumpy. Well, for a few hours at least!
