My remit for the World Food Competition Blogger Summit in Orange Beach, Alabama was straight forward. Explain the importance of food styling, lighting and photography.
I arrived at The Port A Beach Lodge in Port Aransas, Texas on the evening of Thursday 3rd November, and after a quick look around, I decided I’d like to get a few night exposures whilst the area was quiet, assuming Friday evening would be much busier.
Food photography is one of my favourite subjects, and not because of the food. I actually don’t eat the food, I struggle to keep my weight down as it is!
This was part of an ongoing project with Woo Creative for one of their clients, Saddles Direct. The brief from Lisa was pretty straightford. “Make it look good, with plenty of detail.”
There’s a number of hotels I photograph food for, the Macdonald Tickled Trout is one of them. This was part of a number of images for an advertising campaign, photographed within their recently refurbished restaurant.
Well, the final destination of Adnan’s journey to London Fashion Week and Fashions Finest, and it’s certainly been interesting. After a very long and intensive day’s shooting, both on location and in the studio, we finally made it. And now?
Lloyd Mini in Colne have been clients and good friends for quite some time. A little while ago we were contacted by the manager, Matt, and asked to photograph the latest released Mini with the intention of having the image on a wall in the handover bay. I asked what he would like, and his answer was “Something interesting”.
After spending most of the day shooting fashion on location for Adnan Bayyat, we then started work on the Couture collection at the studio, and there was an awful lot of it too. It was certainly going to be a long day. All the collections needed to be photographed in one day, as the London Fashion Week with Fashions Finest was looming.
In the summer of 2014, I was contacted by Cabinet Maker magazine with a request for an interview regarding product photography in relation to the furniture industry. This started a flurry of activity as we quickly shot a number of images specifically for the article, ahead of the interview. We wanted to sow a range of styles and locations, mainly to show our flexibility.
Part of Adnan Bayyat’s collection for London Fashion Week and Fashions Finest included something a little special. The artist Swarez kindly donated two painted canvases, which had been very carefully prepared by Swarez to be supple.
