Food Photography in West Yorkshire
Food photography is one of my favourite subjects, and not because of the food. I actually don’t eat the food, I struggle to keep my weight down as it is!

This particular venue is full of surprises. Barton Grange Hotel in Barton, nr Preston, is very unassuming when seen from the road. But go poking around the back, or indeed inside, and the potential presented to the wedding photographer is really quite mind boggling!
This was part of an ongoing project with Woo Creative for one of their clients, Saddles Direct. The brief from Lisa was pretty straightford. “Make it look good, with plenty of detail.”
Victoria There’s a little bit of a back story to this. Well, not the image, but the bride. I had an email requesting a visit, and I thought I recognised the surname. Turns out her mother was a friend I had lost touch with twenty years previously.
Some of you will recognise Wayne, one of the photographers working with me. Yeah, I know he looks a little younger here, and there’s a reason for that. This was pre beard, and it was eighteen months ago when he qualified.
This was from Lee and Hannah’s wedding in July 2014. I was fascinated by Hannah’s quite arresting gaze, and had the idea for this particular image from early in the day. It’s actually lit by a single light source, boomed above me. Access was a little tight, as there is a piano between the couple and me. As you do.
There’s a number of hotels I photograph food for, the Macdonald Tickled Trout is one of them. This was part of a number of images for an advertising campaign, photographed within their recently refurbished restaurant.
Well, the final destination of Adnan’s journey to London Fashion Week and Fashions Finest, and it’s certainly been interesting. After a very long and intensive day’s shooting, both on location and in the studio, we finally made it. And now?
Lloyd Mini in Colne have been clients and good friends for quite some time. A little while ago we were contacted by the manager, Matt, and asked to photograph the latest released Mini with the intention of having the image on a wall in the handover bay. I asked what he would like, and his answer was “Something interesting”.
After spending most of the day shooting fashion on location for Adnan Bayyat, we then started work on the Couture collection at the studio, and there was an awful lot of it too. It was certainly going to be a long day. All the collections needed to be photographed in one day, as the London Fashion Week with Fashions Finest was looming.
